The Willow Tree

img_0838.jpg

The willow’s roots cling to the earth for precious life

The branches yearning to escape its true nature

In waning moments, labored breathing provides vital oxygen

In death, it lends its bones to build a million broken homes

Unhidden beauty is rapaciously sought to fill a void in a golden cage

The most selfless creatures are singled out and repurposed for exploitation.
